Junk King Makes Moving Day Easier, Provides Franchisees Bump in Revenue

It’s National Moving Month! Nearly 30 million people move each year, and a great deal of them choose May for moving day based on the month’s (usually) fair weather, which eases some of the stress that comes with moving.

And though moving in mild temperatures is certainly better than moving under the sweltering sun or in a blizzard, one thing remains the same: the sheer amount of stuff that needs to be moved or disposed of.

Often, people don’t even realize how much junk they have accumulated until they are faced with having to pack it all up. For the first time in years they might be asking themselves, “Do I really need that old computer from 2012? Or the twin mattress in the basement we haven’t used since my youngest child moved out?”

These people don’t just need movers — they need junk removal professionals, which is why our franchisees tend to see a nice uptick in business in the spring. Our franchisees are popular with their customers for a variety of reasons, including our extensive removal services. While some junk removal companies are limited in the items they can pick up, Junk King franchisees are able to haul away:

  • Furniture
  • Televisions
  • Yard Waste
  • Appliances
  • Hot tubs
  • E-Waste
  • Trash
  • Mattresses
  • And more!

Our eco-friendly first mindset also ensures that we recycle or repurpose as much of the junk as possible, making us a popular choice for the sustainability-minded Millennials and older Gen Zers entering the market.

Our process is simple for customers and franchisees: Customers pick a two-hour service window, we call 15 minutes before arrival, and if a price is agreed upon, we haul the junk away—simple as that.
