Junk King Honors Its Robust Network of Veteran Franchisees

Posted by Junk King on Nov 11, 2020 6:53:38 AM

In recognition of Veterans Day, the Junk King franchise team would like to extend our gratitude to our nation’s heroes. We want to take this time to honor the veterans of the United States Armed Forces who have sacrificed so much for our country and freedom, including those within our own franchise family.

We take a lot of pride in being an organization that provides opportunities to military veterans. With plenty of veterans within our team and nearly 40 veteran franchisees in the Junk King system today, many have found our junk removal franchise opportunity as a natural next step in their careers.

Take Steve Kaiser, owner of Junk King Phoenix, for example. Steve served as an officer in the U.S. Army for eight years and was deployed to Afghanistan as a Civil Affairs Team Leader. This leadership role within a service opportunity equipped Steve with skills he was eager to implement in the next stages of his professional career.

“My American Dream has always been to start my own business,” says Steve. “Following my time in the U.S. Army, plus years of experience within corporate America and exploring my own business ventures, I pursued the opportunity to take over ownership of Junk King Phoenix. One of the biggest things that interested me in Junk King is the fact that you’re not alone, because starting a business from scratch is no easy feat.”

At Junk King, we offer ease of entry, affordable start-up costs and even a model for those without previous business experience. Not to mention, veterans who qualify receive a 10% discount on Junk King franchise fees. Our veteran franchisees, including Steve, have established many connections between the military and franchising, which allow them to leverage the skills they’ve built in order to create a strong business.

“There are a lot of parallels between the military and Junk King,” Steve continues. “The military teaches you how to lean on experienced people, learn from them and be humble. There’s also a camaraderie that I try to instill within my own business. At Junk King, not only can I lean on the support of the corporate team, but I can also rely on the owner network. And, with the skills I’ve built, I’ve found myself being able to mentor many of the individuals on my team. A lot of them have had very challenging lives, so it’s exciting to be able to work with them, offer scholarships, see them grow and help prepare them for the next stages of their careers and lives.”

Following such a positive experience with Junk King, Steve recently expanded his rule with two additional locations in Surprise and Mesa, AZ. Along with the opportunity to further implement his skills and experience, Steve appreciates the scalability of the business. As Steve puts it, “the sky is the limit.”

Junk King will continue to support our veterans throughout America, and we look forward to growing with our dedicated franchise network for years to come.
