How Does Dumpster Delivery Work?

Posted by Junk King on Jan 18, 2018 5:48:00 PM

Are you thinking about renting a dumpster, but unsure about how to proceed? A dumpster delivery to your home is a perfect way to handle waste from an extensive house cleanout, a big office move, home renovation or building project, or anything along those lines.

Instead of having to transport your trash to the nearest garbage dump, you have a dumpster conveniently located in your driveway or parking lot. Once the bin is full, the dumpster rental company will come and collect it. The entire process is incredibly simple and customer-friendly.

Once you’ve rented a dumpster once, you’ll see how convenient and hassle-free it is. The first time, though, can seem a little confusing. How exactly does a dumpster delivery work? What should you expect? And what do you need to do to prepare? The answers to these questions won’t be entirely the same from one dumpster rental company to the next. However, this post should at very least explain what to expect from a Junk King rental, from first steps to last.

Step One: Make the necessary arrangements

The first thing you need to do if you want to rent a dumpster is to get in touch with Junk King. If you aren’t sure whether there is a Junk King close to where you live or work, visit the “Locations” page on our website. Currently, we have more than 90 locally owned franchises spread throughout 29 states. We also have a few franchises in Canada.

If there is a Junk King franchise in your proximity, call 1-888-888-JUNK to book a rental. You can also book online if you are interested in saving $30 on your reservation. If there isn’t a Junk King franchise near you right now, make sure to check back anytime you need a dumpster rental. We are continually looking for new franchisees and expansion opportunities. Who knows? Your town could be the location of our next franchise.

When you book, you will need to choose a drop-off time and location. You will also need to specify how long you want your rental to last. Our standard service model is to drop off the dumpster and then pick it up three days later. You can keep the dumpster for longer if you have a more extensive project. Just know that how much you pay will depend on the length of your reservation and how far your drop-off location is from your area’s Junk King processing center. When you book, you should get an upfront pricing estimate. We don’t do hidden fees, so you can trust your quote to be accurate.

Step Two: Be ready for the delivery

One of the things we pride ourselves on at Junk King is our timeliness. When you make your reservation, you can trust that we will adhere to your pre-selected drop-off and pick-up times. Be sure you are ready for your delivery as scheduled. The good news is that it won’t take much time to prepare. Just pick out the spot where you want your dumpster to go and make sure no cars or other obstacles are blocking the area. If you want the dumpster in front of the garage, also make sure to get the cars out of the stalls before delivery. You don’t want to be blocked in by your dumpster!

You’ll want to pick an area in your driveway or parking lot where your dumpster will be quickly and readily accessible from the building. After all, if you are disposing of heavy furniture pieces or appliances, you don’t want to have to carry those items any further than necessary. The good news is that our standard rental dumpster—called the MINI—is the perfect size for a driveway. The dimensions are about 8 feet wide by 12 feet long. It’s small enough to fit in your drive and not so heavy that it will damage your paving.

Step Three: Fill the dumpster

Once we have delivered your MINI, the rest is up to you! At 12 cubic feet, the MINI has sufficient capacity for most cleanouts—from residential to commercial. We also don’t have as many restrictions about what you can and cannot put into your bin as other dumpster delivery companies. Are you just getting rid of everyday refuse? The MINI is the perfect way to do it. Are you disposing of larger items, like couches or mattresses? The MINI can fit them. Are you dealing with other types of junk, such as yard waste, construction debris, or electronic waste? Feel free to toss it all in the MINI.

New Call-to-action One of the factors that makes Junk King unique from other dumpster rental companies is our commitment to being a green, sustainable company. After we pick up your dumpster, we take it back to our processing center and sort through everything. If there is stuff that can be recycled, reused, repurposed, or donated, we will pull it out of the bin and make sure it ends up in the right place. In other words, just because you throw something into your MINI doesn’t mean it will end up in a landfill. On the contrary, at Junk King, we go into every job with the goal of recycling at least 60% of the waste we collect.

So, as you fill your dumpster, you don’t need to worry about separating your trash and recycling. We’ll do it for you at our sorting facility. We even take items that almost no other junk removal service does, such as old cathode ray TV sets.

Step Four: Be ready for pick-up time

Just like with deliveries, Junk King is adamant about being on time for every pick-up. Say you have a three-day dumpster rental. We’ll be there on the third day to collect the dumpster and haul your junk away. We will even call you 15 minutes before your scheduled pick-up time, to verify that you are ready for us to collect your MINI. If you need more time, let us know, and we will work something out. If you fill your bin early and need a second one, give us a call, and we will tweak your reservation accordingly.

New Call-to-action

Step Five: Pay your invoice

Once we’ve collected and processed your MINI, we will invoice you. Unlike with other dumpster rental companies, Junk King only bills customers based on the dumpster space they use. We know that every trash removal project has slightly different capacity needs. Rather than do what our competitors do (offer a dozen or so different dumpster rental sizes), we have one standard size and bill differently. If you fill only half your dumpster, you won’t pay the same amount that you would if you filled the whole thing. Your final invoice, therefore, will reflect how much junk you actually had us haul away.

If you have any questions about your invoice, feel free to call Junk King directly. Again, we pride ourselves on fair, transparent pricing. We are happy to walk you through your invoice and explain how we billed you.
