Junk King is getting set for its own Great American Road Trip – Fifteen Cities, Six Weeks, One Goal.

Hitting the road on Earth Day, April 22, the company’s Cleaning Up America Tour will feature a national journey promoting environmental awareness and the company’s own brand of environmentally-friendly professional hauling services.

“Cleaning Up America is by far the largest, longest running, and most exciting giveback initiative we have put together yet,” Michael Andreacchi, CEO of Junk King, said.

Fueled by the company’s recycle, reuse, and repurpose mantra, the Cleaning Up America truck will be driven and relayed from one Junk King franchisee to the next in each local market. Participants at each stop will help staff the truck for a maximum of two days, or two to five jobs, and provide the labor while Junk King covers the costs.

Stressing the company’s emphasis on environmental awareness, Junk King plans to ship any items collected during the stops to the nearest company warehouse for sorting and management, the recycled items to be later donated and repurposed for better community usage.

At the same time, the tour will also feature the truck’s social media exploits throughout the entirety of the tour, broadcasting very aspect of the journey from the Amazing Race-inspired driving segments to the cleanup efforts on social media sites. The tour promises a fun way for participants to clean up their neighborhoods and get more involved in their communities, ideals the company has strived for since being co-founded in a two-car San Carlos garage back in 2005.

“The process of clearing out is liberating and necessary, and it’s heartbreaking to know not everyone has the manpower or resources to haul everything away or maintain a clean space,” Andreacchi said. “That’s why we’re inspired to make this trip; to provide some relief to folks, hear their stories, and make a meaningful difference in their lives.”

The tour includes stops at these locations:

  • Peninsula, California
  • Los Angeles, California
  • Las Vegas, Nevada
  • Salt Lake City, Utah
  • Denver, Colorado
  • Des Moines, Iowa
  • Chicago, Illinois
  • Grand Rapids, Michigan
  • Cincinnati, Ohio
  • Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
  • Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
  • New York City, New York
  • Boston, Massachusetts
  • Baltimore, Maryland
  • Washington D.C.
